Technical Artifacts
Machine-readable schemas and contexts for implementing ZineCore2
Each ZineCore2 profile is defined by five synchronized artifacts that serve different implementation needs. This section documents the two most commonly used technical artifacts for developers and system integrators.
The Five Pillars
Every profile (ZineCore2, AgentCore2, HoldingCore2, RepoCore2) has:
- DCAP Narrative - Human-readable specification (see Profiles)
- DC TAP Table - CSV format for librarians (available via Downloads)
- JSON-LD Context - Semantic web integration (documented here)
- JSON Schema - Validation and type checking (documented here)
- TypeScript Types - Auto-generated developer types (available via Downloads)

For Implementers
If you're building a system that uses ZineCore2:
- Use JSON Schema for validation, form generation, and ensuring data quality
- Use JSON-LD contexts for RDF integration, linked data, and SPARQL queries
- Use TypeScript types if building with TypeScript/JavaScript for compile-time type safety
- Reference DC TAP tables when mapping from MARC or other library metadata formats
All artifacts are kept in sync through the spec repository and automatically deployed to this website.
